                                         students identified and properly staffed into the Special

                                         Education Program.

JOB GOAL: To provide Special Education instruction to all eligible students identified and properly staffed into the Special Education Program.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Participate in the assessment of students for Identification and Eligibility inclusion within the Special Education Program.
  2. Participate in the MTSS process on student intervention teams as part of a multidisciplinary team for SPED referrals.
  3. Participate in the MTSS/504 process as part of a multidisciplinary team for 504 teams.
  4. As case manager for students on assigned caseload: write all pertinent IEP documents and plan for/facilitate IEP meetings.
  5. Implement IEP services as defined within the document.
  6. Plan appropriate learning experiences to include individual and/or small group instruction.
  7. If present, develop, direct, and support paraprofessional educators working with students.
  8. Establish and maintain systems for monitoring student progress related to IEP documents.
  9. Consult and advise General Education classroom teachers on issues related to Special Education student performance.
  10. Collaborate with all service providers within district and BOCES to provide optimum support for students.
  11. Communicate with parent/guardians of Special Education students on a regular basis as needed.
  12. Comply with all District, State, and Federal Special Education requirements.
  13. Collaborate with the SPED team in the continuous improvement of Special Education curriculum and procedures within CCS District.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
